Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• Geeny / the Service — The AI video generation platform accessible at geeny.app and all associated tools.
• User / You — Any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.
• Prompt — The text input you provide to instruct the AI to generate a video.
• Generated Video — The output video file produced by the Geeny pipeline from your Prompt.
• Third-Party Platforms — TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and any other social media or video hosting platforms where you may upload Generated Videos.
• Subscription — A paid plan that grants recurring access to a set number of video generations per billing period.

2. Eligibility

To use Geeny you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Union).
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• Not be located in a country subject to a Portuguese or European Union government embargo.
• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.

By creating an account you represent that all of the above conditions are met.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to access paid features. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@geeny.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

Geeny reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Description of the Service

Geeny is an AI-powered short video generation platform. When you submit a Prompt, Geeny automatically:

• Writes a short-form video script using AI language models.
• Generates a natural-sounding voiceover using text-to-speech (TTS) technology.
• Selects and assembles stock media (video clips and images) from licensed third-party providers.
• Applies subtitle overlays using your chosen style preset.
• Renders a 9:16 vertical video file ready for upload to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Generates a caption and hashtag set to accompany the video on social platforms.

The final Generated Video is delivered to your dashboard for download. Generation times vary and are not guaranteed.

5. Subscription and Billing

Geeny offers both a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.

• All prices are displayed in EUR and are inclusive of applicable VAT.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Unused video generation credits do not roll over to the next billing period.
• Geeny reserves the right to adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your selected payment method. Geeny does not store your payment card details.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Geeny to generate, store, or distribute content that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory on the basis of race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation.
• Violates the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Contains explicit sexual material or graphic violence.
• Impersonates any person or entity, or misrepresents your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Promotes or facilitates illegal activities, including fraud, scams, or the sale of regulated goods.
• Violates the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service of any Third-Party Platform where you intend to upload the Generated Video.
• Is designed to mislead viewers as to the authenticity or origin of the content in a harmful way.

Geeny reserves the right to review, remove, or refuse to process any Prompt or Generated Video that we believe violates this policy, with or without prior notice.

7. Third-Party Platform Compliance

Generated Videos are intended for upload to Third-Party Platforms. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with each platform's terms, policies, and community guidelines. By using Geeny you confirm that you have read and will comply with the applicable policies below.

Many platforms require disclosure when content is AI-generated. You are solely responsible for complying with any such disclosure requirements. Geeny does not upload content to Third-Party Platforms on your behalf and accepts no liability for any consequences arising from your uploads.

8. AI-Generated Content and Stock Media

Generated Videos are produced using AI models and licensed stock media. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated scripts and voiceovers may occasionally contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing all Generated Videos before publishing.
• Stock media used in Generated Videos is sourced from licensed providers (including Pexels and Pixabay) under their respective royalty-free licences. Geeny does not guarantee the suitability of stock media for all commercial purposes beyond standard social media use.
• Geeny does not train AI models on your Prompts or Generated Videos without explicit consent.

9. Intellectual Property

Geeny's IP: The Geeny platform, including its software, design, branding, AI pipeline, and all underlying technology, is owned exclusively by Geeny Apps Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to the platform itself.

Your Content: You retain full ownership of the Prompts you submit. You grant Geeny a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your Prompts solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Generated Videos: Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Geeny grants you a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, modify, publish, and monetise the Generated Videos for personal and commercial purposes, including on Third-Party Platforms.

10. Disclaimers

Geeny does not guarantee that Generated Videos will not infringe third-party rights, go viral, or be approved by any Third-Party Platform. Content generation is automated and subject to the limitations of AI technology.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Geeny Apps Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
• Damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content.
• Any actions taken by Third-Party Platforms in relation to your account or uploaded content.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Geeny in the three months immediately preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Geeny Apps Ltd and its officers, directors, and employees from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debts arising from: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) content you publish using Generated Videos; or (iv) your violation of any Third-Party Platform's policies.

13. Termination

Geeny may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, fail to pay applicable fees, or for any other reason at Geeny's sole discretion.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 9, 10, 11, and 12.

14. Changes to the Service and Terms

Geeny reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice before making material changes to these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable EU law.
